A 278-bed facility, Mercy Hospital has over 1,000 caregivers using the ThinIdentity solution to improve their day-to-day workflow and thereby strengthen the quality of patient care.

DENVER, June 9 /PRNewswire/ — ThinIdentity Corporation, a leader in improving caregiver workflow in healthcare environments, today announced the appointment of William J. Amelio and Carol J. Rizzo to its board of directors.

“We are pleased to have this caliber of executives join our board to help broaden the business and operating base as we meet our long-term growth objectives,” said Roy Perry, CEO of ThinIdentity. “Both Bill and Carol will bring strong leadership skills, extensive management experience, and proven track records in making companies successful to ThinIdentity. We look forward to benefiting from their insights and experience.”

Amelio brings a wealth of experience as former president and CEO of Lenovo Group Limited, the fourth-ranked PC computer vendor in the world, with $16 billion in revenue and 29,000 employees. At Lenovo, Amelio led the firm in strategy, operations, and day-to-day business execution. Prior to Lenovo, Amelio served as senior vice president, covering Asia-Pacific and Japan, for Dell Inc., with responsibility for strategy and operations across the region. In addition, Amelio has held senior executive positions at NCR Corporation, Honeywell International, and IBM.

“I am excited to be a part of an innovative and talented company like ThinIdentity that is so well-poised for growth. The thousands of workstations already installed proves the acceptance of their technology in the marketplace,” said Amelio. “As CEO of Lenovo, many senior hospital executives expressed to me their frustrations with current technology and the difficulties of full adoption by healthcare professionals. ThinIdentity overcomes these obstacles and will be a leader in the healthcare market helping to drive the “meaningful use” of Electronic Medical Records which in turn will reduce healthcare costs.”

Rizzo is a seasoned operations and technology executive with over 25 years of experience in all aspects of the IT industry. Her career includes business operations management, as well as line technology management and consulting assignments with extensive international experience. Rizzo has held chief technology officer positions at both Citigroup and Kaiser Permanente. Her forte is in helping businesses amplify expertise, create operational efficiencies and improve customer experience through the application of technology. Rizzo’s vision and innovative use of technology have helped firms across healthcare and financial services differentiate their products, reduce costs, and improve revenue and customer perceptions.

“Healthcare remains one of the top growth industries and ThinIdentity is poised to take advantage of the opportunity,” said Rizzo. “I feel privileged to join the dynamic and exciting team at ThinIdentity and look forward to working with them as they further penetrate the healthcare and other future markets, such as financial services, with their unique solution. As a Fortune 500 CTO, I was always looking for innovative ways to deliver technology to my customers and reduce costs, ThinIdentity clearly is able to deliver this with their solution.”

ThinIdentity Corp., a new Denver-based technology company, has launched a solution that will change the way doctors and nurses care for patients. The ThinIdentity solution improves workflow by providing reliable, near-instant access to electronic information. Standard computer log on times can stretch to minutes.
The ThinIdentity solution allows for seamless smooth-roaming and consistent access to data within seconds, from any location.
“We know first-hand the technology challenges caregivers face. When one considers that most caregivers log on to a PC and applications over 50 times per day, and each log on can take at 30 seconds to a few minutes, we’re giving doctors and nurses a significant amount of time back in their days,” said Joe Jaudon, founder and chief technology officer, ThinIdentity Corp. “Not only are we improving the efficiency and effectiveness of today’s healthcare providers, but we’re also allowing for near-instant access to patient data at the bedside, reducing clinical errors and improving overall patient care.”
By replacing hospital PCs with stateless thin-client terminals connected to a ThinIdentity Synchronizer, doctors and nurses can quickly insert a smart card and in seconds from anywhere in the hospital, they are logged on to their own unique desktop, with access to locationappropriate applications. ThinIdentity simplifies a caregiver’s workflow by dynamically updating policy, content and location specific functionality such as printing as a doctor or nurse moves
to a new location in the hospital.
For hospital IT managers, ThinIdentity delivers a centralized, standardized desktop environment for application delivery, dynamic software updates and tighter security. This results in a more efficient infrastructure that reduces operational and environmental costs. Additionally, because ThinIdentity terminals are stateless thin-clients, each terminal can be deployed in minutes and have a useful life of more than 10 years.

Caregivers Get Near-Instant Access to Patient Information Anywhere in the Hospital with New Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Solution

DENVER, Colo., MAR. 23, 2009 – Today, a new Denver-based technology company called ThinIdentity™ Corporation has launched a cost-effective solution that will significantly change the way doctors and nurses care for patients. The ThinIdentity solution dramatically improves their workflow by providing reliable, near-instant access to electronic information. Standard computer logon times can stretch to minutes. The ThinIdentity solution, however, allows for seamless smooth-roaming and consistent access to data within seconds, from any location.

“We know first-hand the technology challenges caregivers face. When one considers that most caregivers log on to a PC and applications over 50 times per day, and each logon can take at 30 seconds to a few minutes, we’re giving doctors and nurses a significant amount of time back in their days,” said Joe Jaudon, founder and chief technology officer, ThinIdentity Corporation.“Not only are we improving the efficiency and effectiveness of today’s healthcare providers, but we’re also allowing for near-instant access to patient data at the bedside, reducing clinical errors, and improving overall patient care.

Doctors and nurses have embraced our solution because it gives them more time to care for their patients,” said Roy Perry, CEO of ThinIdentity Corporation. “This enables the “meaningful use” of Electronic Health Records and Computer Physician Order Entry which helps support regulatory compliance, and allows hospitals to access significant funds available under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009.”

How ThinIdentity Delivers

By replacing hospital PCs with stateless thin-client terminals connected to a ThinIdentity Synchronizer™, doctors and nurses can quickly insert a smart card and in mere seconds from anywhere in the hospital, they are logged on to their own unique desktop, with access to location-appropriate applications. ThinIdentity simplifies a caregiver’s workflow by dynamically updating policy, content and location specific functionality such as printing as a doctor or nurse moves to a new location in the hospital.

For hospital IT managers, ThinIdentity delivers a centralized, standardized desktop environment for application delivery, dynamic software updates, and tighter security. This results in a more efficient infrastructure that reduces operational and environmental costs. And, because ThinIdentity terminals are stateless thin-clients, each terminal can be deployed in minutes and have a useful life of more than 10 years.

“ThinIdentity’s solution fits into most hospitals’ capital budgets for PC refreshes, meaning it’s a very affordable solution,” continued Perry. “The solution also delivers an attractive and timely ROI.”

Proven Results in Hospitals

A ThinIdentity trial hospital has seen dramatic productivity improvements and cost savings resulting in financial gain of $6 million in the first 18 month period.

Prior to ThinIdentity, 30-second to 2-minute computer logons severely impacted the workflow of caregivers at this hospital, driving them to develop workarounds to using the sluggish PCs. In addition, IT administrators constantly were having to repair distributed PCs which were frequently infected with spyware and adware. Their CIO knew the caregivers needed a faster desktop solution, but he required a system that would complement the hospital’s existing desktop environment, Windows architecture, and current applications. After an initial implementation at the hospital’s orthopedic clinic, the results were astounding. For the first time, caregivers started using the system instead of avoiding technology, and soon, doctors and nurses were demanding ThinIdentity’s implementation across the hospital.
